Associating the Content with Website Manager

Content used in the website is published from Author-it to Author-it Website Manager and uploaded to the subfolder in the Author-it Website Manager content folder. Localized content is published from the target library in the same way, but moved to language specific subfolders in the content folder.

After the content has been transferred the page associations are created in Author-it Website Manager Admin using the Add Pages function.

Note: This step cannot be completed until the Experience has been defined, and the language tab has been created for the Content.

To Add Pages to Author-it Website Manager:

  1. Open the Content screen and select the language tab
  2. Select the Add Pages tab
  3. Select the default template to be used during the import. The default template is assigned to pages where a specific template has not been assigned to a topic in the Author-it Website Manager variable before publishing.
  4. Select the default placeholder to be used during the import, this will usually be set to use the main or body placeholder.
  5. Select the AWM XML file or NONE as the Author-it File option. Choose the AWM XML file to build the sitemap from the book, or choose NONE to add pages without importing sitemap and variable assignment information.

Note: If the AWM XML is not imported the sitemap and menu maintenance will need to be completed manually.

  6. Choose Add Pages. A summary is displayed, showing details for the actions completed when the pages were added.
