Experience Selector

Website Manager uses browser profiles to determine which experience templates should be used when the webpage is delivered to the viewer. You can add an experience selector to the templates while you are testing the website, or in some situations you may decide to provide the selector in the live website. If you are using the selector for testing, you can remove the functionality by changing the value to a space and the value type to "Text".

The Experience Selector functionality is included by adding a placeholder to the template at the location you want the selector to appear and defining the placeholder value at the global, experience, or language level using the following format:

Experience Selector Code

Note: The label parameter is optional. If the parameter is not defined Experience will be used for the label. If you are localizing your website you will need to provide the appropriate label.

The experience selector displays a list of the experience profiles created in Website Manager. When the visitor selects a different experience from the list, Website Manager refreshes the page and delivers the updated end user experience.

To Add a Language Selector to the Website:

  1. Add the placeholder to the template at the appropriate location.
  2. Define the placeholder value in Website Manager at the global, experience, or content level.
