Editing Individual Pages
Individual pages can be edited to add content which is specific to a single page, for example, redefining placeholder values, or changing the template used by the pages.
The screen includes two panes, one for editing elements used to build the page, and the other to preview the results using the experience templates.
- The Title field displays the topic's title used in the Author-it, and in the web page. If the topic's title is also used in the menu the Sitemap entry uses page title checkbox is selected.
- The Reference field displays the name used by the HTML file. The file name uses the object's code, or the reference given in the topic's Website Manager properties or the topic's web properties.
- Use the Experience Template drop-down list if you want to assign a different template to the web page.
- The Placeholders set content and functionality at page level. The page's default placeholder links the HTML file to the body placeholder. If required, you can create new placeholders, or redefine existing placeholders at page level - this allows you to fine-tune the page by overriding settings from other levels.
- The experience tabs in the preview pane let you view the completed page - including content, functionality, and experience templates. Select the tabs to ensure the page is displaying correctly.
The edit window also has a Preview Width option to view how the page displays at different screen widths (100%, 1280, 1024, 800, 640 pixels).
