Assigning Website Manager Variables

When using Website Manager, variables are assigned against content in Author-it using the Website Manager variable wizard. The wizard has three options for assigning values:

• Not included: Choose this option to exclude a topic from being published in Website Manager content.
• New page: Choose this option when the topic is being flagged to create a new webpage.
• Part of page: Choose this option when the content is being flagged as a page part, or sub section, of a webpage (for example, content to be displayed in a note section in the template).

To Assign Website Manager Variables to a Topic:

1. In the Library Explorer right-click on the topic and choose Website Manager... from the shortcut menu.
2. Select the option for the topic as Not included, New page, or Part of page
   • For New page add the values for Reference, Menu name, Template, Placeholder, and Parent page reference
   • For Part of page add the location placeholder from the template

     

3. Choose OK to save the values against the topic.

Note: The Parent Ref variable can also be assigned to a sub book from the Library Explorer.
