Creating a New Topic

New topics are created when a book has been opened in the Book Contents pane. In Author-it Live new topics are added directly to the Book's content, and the topic object is added to the folder containing the Book.

To Create a New Topic in a Book:

1. Open the book in the Book Contents pane.
2. Choose on the Book Contents Toolbar to put the book into Edit Mode.
3. Select a topic in the book contents (the new topic is added as a child of the selected topic in the book's content pane).
4. Choose on the Book Contents Toolbar.
5. In the New Topic dialog box enter the topic's description and choose a template from the drop-down list.
6. Choose OK to create the topic. The new topic is opened in the Topic Editor.
7. Save the changes to the book.
