Inserting a Topic Using the Split Screen

Inserting a topic is similar to copying the content from one topic and pasting it into another topic. The inserted text has no link to the original topic, so you can make changes to the content without it affecting any other topics.

Use the Split view when you need to insert text from another topic into the topic opened in the Topic Editor.

To Insert a Topic:

  1. Open the target topic in the Topic Editor.
  2. Choose Split from the Library Toolbar to display the Split view.
  3. Drag the topic from the Folders or Search list into the Editor and drop at the chosen location.

Note: Topics are inserted into a new paragraph in the topic.

  4. Choose Insert Topic from the shortcut menu to paste the text into the target topic.
