Accepting or Rejecting a Task

When a task is assigned to you it is added to the Pending Tasks folder. Before you can do anything more with a task you must either accept it or reject it.

  • If you accept the task, it is moved to the New Tasks folder and you can begin working on it.
  • If you reject the task, notification is sent back to the project manager.

Before you make this decision, it may be a good idea to view the task's details.

To Accept or Reject a Task:

  1. Choose the Task button on the navigation pane to display your Task list.
  2. Select the task you want to accept or reject, right-click, then:
    • To accept the task, choose Accept.
    • To reject the task, choose Reject. In the message box enter a reason for rejecting the task, then choose OK. The task is moved to the Rejected Tasks folder.

The task is accepted or rejected immediately.
