Excluding an Object From Some Output Formats

Author-it makes it easy to exclude any object from appearing in one or more of your document's outputs. You can directly exclude individual objects, one by one.

You can also indirectly exclude objects by:

  • Excluding the object's parent
  • Excluding the Book that contains the object
  • Excluding the Topic that contains the object
  • Excluding the Style that is applied to the paragraph containing the object

To Exclude an Object:

  1. Open the object's properties window and select the General tab
  2. Make sure the Include Object In checkbox is blank for the output/s you do not want the object to appear in. If a setting is grayed out and you cannot change it, there are several ways you can deal with this.
  3. Save your changes.
