Understanding Tasks

A task is the smallest unit of work used in Author-it's project management features. A task is measured in "working days". Working days are set as Monday-Friday, Saturday and Sunday are never working days. Currently, you can not specify non-working holidays or weekends that will be worked on -- it's almost as if Author-it upholds your right to a break each week.

A task can be assigned to a person or to a group of people (for example, the Senior Editors team). As soon as someone from the group accepts the task, it is assigned to them.

A task can have prerequisite tasks, which must be completed to a certain percentage before work on the task can begin.
