Creating Translation Jobs
The Create Translation Jobs step defines the job file name, locations of the export and import folders, and the content that will be included in the job.
- Translation Job file name - select the job name from a list of templates, or type a job name in the field. The templates are created as values against the LM_TicketID_Template variable in the Administrator.
- Folder locations - set the pathway to the translation export and import folders. When the folder pathway has been defined in the Administrator the default setting used in the dialog box is read-only and cannot be changed. If the pathway has not been defined use the Browse button to select the folder on the network or local machine.
Export folder - the translation job XML files are saved to the export folder when the translation job is created.
Import folder - the location where the Localization Manager expects to find the returned translation files (the translated files are imported into the target library when the translation is completed).
- Include content in Release State - content in the target library with the chosen release state applied is included in the translation job.
- Include already translated content - the default for this option is defined in the Administrator, but can be changed for individual jobs. Select the check box to include translated content as context material for the translation job.
When a the job is created from a small number of topics there isn't always enough content to provide context for the translator. The Include already translated content option lets you include topics from the target library that have already been translated as context material. The topics that have been already been translated are flagged as not translatable so they are not re-translated.
To Create the Translation Jobs:
- Select the translation job file name template from the drop-down list, or type in a job file name.
- Select the export folder for the translation job. When the Job is created the file will be added to this folder.
- Select the import folder.
- Select the Release state to include content from the target library. The translation job only includes topics that have the selected release state applied.

- Select the Include translated content check box if the translation job will include content from the book that has already been translated. Previously translated content can be included to provide context for the topics that will be translated in this job, the topics are flagged as not translatable so they are identified as context material only and not re-translated.
