Customizing the Styles Toolbar

The toolbar is displayed in the Edit ribbon when a Book or Topic is opened in the Editor. Each user in an Author-it Library can have their own customized Styles toolbar, giving quick access to the Styles they use the most in the library. The Toolbar comes with some of the commonly used styles already installed.

Note: The Styles Toolbar is specific to your user account, and to the current Library. If you're using more than one Library, you'll need to define your styles toolbar in each one.

To Customize the Styles Toolbar:

  1. In the main window choose the Author-it Button > Style Toolbar Manager

    -or-

In the Editor choose Edit > Format > Format Dialog Box Launcher.

The Customize Styles Toolbar window opens.

    Customize Styles Toolbar

Now you're ready to:

  • Add Styles to the toolbar.
  • Remove Styles from the toolbar.
  • Change the icon associated with a Style.
  • Assign a keyboard shortcut to a Style.
  • Copy a Styles Toolbar from another person's User Account.
