Reusing Topics and Fragments

When you reuse content in Author-it you have the option of reusing text fragments or complete topics.

• Reused topics (embedded topics): you can reuse a topic when all of the content from the topic is going to be included in a new topic. Later, if you need to update the topic just update the original, the changes flow through to all instances where the topic has been embedded.
• Reused fragments: you can reuse text fragments when you want to reuse a single paragraph from a topic. Once a fragment has been inserted you can make changes to the paragraph without it affecting any other instances of that paragraph. When a reused fragment is updated the fragment is treated as a new paragraph and stored by Author-it Xtend.
