Assign the License to the Library

Before opening your library for the first time you will need to assign the license. License allocation is completed in the Author-it Administrator.

  1. Open the library using Author-it Administrator.
  2. Choose Security > Update Licenses....

    The Update License window opens. Choose the option to load the license file.

    Select License Model

  3. Choose Next to continue. The Load License File window opens.

    Locate License File

  4. Select Load from License file, then Browse to your license (*.alc) file. The path to the license file is added to the Load from License File field.

    A special license key has been provided for acceptance testing. This key contains the following:

    • 5 Base Users
    • 5 Offline Libraries
    • 5 Localization Manager Clients
    • 3 Localization Libraries
    • 1 Author-it Xtend
    • 1 SQL Server Connector

      Note: If you have not completed your testing by the time your license key expires, please contact your account representative or our sales team who will arrange a new extended test license.

  5. Enter the license key provided in the License Key field.
  6. Choose Next to complete the licensing update.

When the Licensing has been successfully updated Close the licensing window.
