Template and Variable Combinations
You control where content is added to a webpage using topic templates and Website Manager variable window options, as well as placeholders in the webpage templates. The following examples show how different combinations can be used to determine where a topic is displayed in the webpage.
Note: The webpage template for this example includes a body content placeholder (options 1 and 2), and sidebar placeholders (option 3).

- Base the topic on the Website Body Page template and choose New Page in the Website Manager variable window the topic creates a new webpage and the content replaces the body placeholder in the webpage template.
New webpage topics are included in the menu.
- Base the topic on the Website Continued Page template and choose Not Included in the Website Manager variable window the topic is appended to an existing webpage and displays after main body text used to create the new webpage. In the book contents you must include this topic as a child of the topic used to create the new webpage. You can append additional topics using the same method.
Appended topics do not appear in the menu.
- Base the topic on the Website Body Page template and choose Part Page in the Website Manager variable window the topic text is added to an existing webpage at a pre-defined location, for example, at the placeholders for sidebar locations 1, 2, or 3.
Note: A different method is used for adding random adverts.
