Checking a Topic With acrocheck
acrocheck is used to check individual topics in Author-it, based on the checking options defined in the acrocheck User Options tab. Any errors found during the check are flagged with colored highlighting according to the type of error:

To Check a Topic and Make Corrections:
- Choose Review > acrocheck > Check from the acrocheck group to check the topic. When acrocheck has finished, any errors that have been found are displayed with colored highlighting.
- Right-click on the error to show the acrocheck shortcut menu options:
- Style and Grammar: the shortcut menu lists the type of error, for example, Style: (avoid ing words).
- Spelling, Terminology, and Duplicated words: the shortcut menu lists alternative words or terms if a suggestion is found.
- Choose an option from the shortcut menu, or correct the flagged item in the topic.
Note: Before using acrocheck for the first time you need to set the checking options.
