Organizing the Book's Structure

The website content is added to a book, with the menu items grouped together forming the basic sitemap structure.

In the book the topics are organized according to the menu groupings (the menu item followed by the submenu items) and page and part-page groupings (the new page is followed by any part-pages). Structuring the book in this way also helps to visually identify the different areas of the website.

The following example illustrates how the combination of the book contents structure and topic templates can be used to organize the structure of your website:

  • Root level – all parent level menu entries (these topics have the Website Body Page template assigned and create a new webpage).
  • 2nd level – pages that will be listed in the submenu (these topics have the Website Body Page template assigned and create a new webpage), or a new topic whose content is appended to an existing webpage (usually when Website Continued Page template has been assigned).
  • 3rd level – a new topic whose content is appended to an existing webpage (usually when Website Continued Page template has been assigned).
