Creating a New Variant Object

When you create a new variant the content from the primary object is copied to the variant object. You can then open the object and make your modifications, including the title or description as required. Variants can be created from standard or primary objects, but not from another variant object. You can also create a variant object while you are working in the book.

To Create a Variant Object from the Object List:

  1. Select a standard object or primary object in the folder object list.
  2. Choose Manage > Variants > New

    -or-

Right-click and choose Variant > New Variant. The Create Variant window is opened.

  3. Select the checkbox next to the criteria you want to assign, then add the criteria value.
  4. Choose OK to create the variant.
