Library Folder Pane and Object Lists

Library Folder Pane:

The library folders are displayed in the folder pane. Select a folder to display its contents in the object list. The folder pane also displays a link to each of your search results.

Object list:

Displays either the objects in the currently selected folder, or objects located using the search criteria. Select an object and right-click to display the available menu options.

File:

  • New: Create a new object in the selected folder.
  • Delete: Deletes the selected objects from the library.
  • Properties: Displays the selected object's property window.

Assign:

  • Template: Assigns a template to the selected objects in the object list.
  • Release State: Assigns a template to the selected objects in the object list.
  • Variant: Used to create a new variant when you select an original or parent object, or edit the variant criteria when you select a variant object.

View:

  • Folder Tree: Toggle option to show or hide the library folder tree.
  • Always on top: Toggle option to keep the Quick Search window in front of other Author-it windows. You can also use the "pin" (Explorer Pin) to keep the window on top.
  • Variants: Toggle option to show or hide any variant objects from the selected folder in the object list.

    Note: The Variants option only displays if variants have been enabled in your library.
