Upgrading to a New Build of Author-it Website Manager

Upgrading to a new build of Author-it Website Manager simply requires running the upgrade exe. When you open the upgrade file you will see one or more of the following options:

  • Fresh install is used when you are completing an upgrade. Settings from the previous installation are displayed as you progress through the options.
  • Configure previous install is used when the install upgrade has been completed but changes need to be made to the configuration file. This option bypasses the the install steps and takes you to the config file window.
  • Continue previous install is used if the install or upgrade was stopped part way through. Choosing this options continues the install process.

To Upgrade to a New Build:

  1. Open the upgrade exe file. Choose Fresh install to upgrade to the latest build. Select the previous installation and choose Next.

  2. The Install Location screen is opened. Check the details are correct, then choose Next.
  3. The Web Server Settings screen is opened. Check the install location URL is correct, then choose Next.
  4. The Ready to Install screen is opened. Choose Install to continue.
  5. The Install Wizard Completed screen is displayed. Choose Finish to close the wizard.
