Creating a New Version of an Object in Live

Author-it allows you to create multiple versions of an object. You can choose to make a new version of an object at any time. You can view the object's version status on the general tab of the object's properties.

Note: You cannot create new versions of Style objects or object templates.

To Create a New Version of an Object:

  1. Select the object you want to replace in the folder or search object list.
  2. Right-click and choose Create New Version, then choose Yes. Author-it creates and displays an exact duplicate of the original object, with a status of (inactive) and a new version number (each new version has the number incremented by 1). You'll need to make the new version active before it can be included in any published documents.
