Step 3 - The Author-it Import Topic Structure Wizard

The Topic Structure Wizard identifies how new topics will be created, according to the rules in profile. It shows each paragraph style that has been found, the outline level that will be used in the Book Contents, and the template the new topics will be based on.

Import Topic Structure

This is where you can adjust the outline level and topic template that will be used. For example, you may have defined a style in the document that has not been picked up by the current topic creation rules in the profile, and you want to use this style to signify a break for a new topic. You can select this style and change the level, and apply a topic template. Author-it creates a temporary rule, which you can save at the end of the import.

Note: This step does not apply to HTML Help, WinHelp, or RoboHelp™ project files (*.hhp, *.hpj, and *xpj files) as the structure has already been defined in the project.

To Modify the Outline Level Used:

  1. Select the level currently applied to the style. An arrow appears with a drop-down menu containing a list of levels to choose from.

    Change Outline Level

  2. Choose an outline level. The new level is selected and (new rule) displays on the right. This action creates a temporary rule (new rule) which can be saved in the profile at the end of the import.

To Modify the Topic Template Applied:

  1. Select the Template currently applied to the Style. An arrow appears with a drop-down menu containing a list of Templates to choose from.

  2. Choose a Topic Template. The new Template is selected and (new rule) displays on the right. This action creates a temporary rule (new rule) which can be saved in the profile at the end of the import.
  3. Choose Next. The Style Mapping Wizard appears.
