Step 4 - The Author-it Import Style Mapping Wizard

The Importer identifies styles in the documents you are importing, then lists them with the corresponding Author-it styles that it will map them onto during the import. You can change this mapping if you need to.

Note: The importer displays HTML class attributes as styles during the style mapping process enabling you to map class attributes to Author-it styles. If no class attribute is set, styles are created automatically for the standard HTML tags: H1, H2, H3, H4, H5, H6, OL, UL, PRE, HR, ADDRESS, and BLOCKQUOTE.

Import Style Mapping

To Change Style Mapping:

  1. Select the name of the Author-it Style whose mapping you want to change.
  2. Choose the [...] button to open the Select a Style Object window.

    Select a Style Object

  3. Select the Style you want to map to, then choose OK. The new mapping for that Style is displayed, and (new rule) displays on the right. This action creates a temporary rule (new rule) which can be saved in the profile at the end of the import.
  4. Repeat steps 1 to 3 for each Style whose mapping you need to change, and then choose Next.

Author-it pre-processes your document. When finished, the Import Preview opens.
