Topic Creation Rules

Topic Creation rules set conditions that define how your document is broken into topics. When all the specified criteria are met, the topics are created at the level defined using the topic template specified in the rule.

When processing these rules, the Importer goes through the entire document one paragraph at a time checking to see if any of the rules apply. The first rule that satisfies the criteria is used. This means if you have two or more rules that could be true for a given paragraph, only the first one will be used.

Note: These rules are not applied to HTML Help, WinHelp, or RoboHelp™ project files (*.hhp, *.hpj, and *xpj files) as the structure has already been defined in the project.
