Step 7 - Installing Author-it On Remaining Computers
Each person who needs to work with Author-it must have the Author-it program files installed on their computer. You must do this separately at each computer.
Author-it's locally-stored client files are:
- Author-it executable.
- Help files.
- Language dictionaries.
- HTML TOC Images
- Windows Help Compiler files.
- HTML Help Compiler files.
You can install Author-it on any number of computers. The license defines how many users have access to Author-it at any one time.
After you have prepared the installation on your server, you are ready to install Author-it onto your client computers.
To Install Author-it on the Client Computers:
- Close all other Windows programs. This lets Author-it update essential components which are shared by other programs.
- Run the Author-it Setup program to begin the installation process. The setup confirmation screen opens. Choose Next to continue.

- Choose I Agree to accept the End User License, then choose Next to continue.

- The Setup Wizard shows you the location where Author-it will be installed on the computer. Use the suggested settings, or browse to another location.
Select how Author-it will be installed for people using this computer:
- Choose Everyone to make Author-it available for all users with access to the computer
- Choose Just me to make the installation of Author-it available to you only
Choose Next to continue.

- When you have completed all of the required steps choose Next to begin the installation process.

- Progress is shown as the components are installed.

- Choose Close to exit the Setup program.

Congratulations, Author-it is now installed on your client computer.
