Importing a Translation Job

Once translation is complete, you need to import the translated XML files.

Note: If translation is only partially complete, or the translated file is being reviewed externally, you should choose to import a draft translation job. This updates the objects in the target library, allowing you to publish the updated content but leaves them locked until the job is imported again.

Even if you aren't reviewing the translation externally, it's a good idea to import your first few jobs as draft to allow you to identify and overcome any potential problems with your translators. Even the most experienced translators, have been known to translate content they shouldn't.

To Import a Translation Job:

  1. Copy the translated XML files to the folder defined in the Import XML from field under the Translation Job properties.
  2. Open Localization Manager and select the Job to be imported.
  3. Choose Translation Jobs > Import from the menu

    -or-

Choose Import on the Translation Jobs toolbar

    -or-

    Right-click and choose Import.

    Import Job

  4. The objects in that Translation Job are imported and unlocked in the Target Library.
