Creating a Target Library vs Creating a Library Update

The first time you create an update the Target Library is also created. Two subfolders are created under the folder defined in the Localization properties: Localization Name and Localization Name_1 (where 'Localization Name' is the name defined in the Localization properties).

Folder Structure

  • The Localization Name folder contains the Target Library that will be translated and used to publish into that localization. Files in this folder (Graphics, Templates, etc) can all be modified for localization but the file names and locations should not be changed.
  • The Localization Name_1 folder contains the first Localization Update. Files in this folder should not be changed or moved as they are required by the Compare Update utility to identify new and modified content.

The Target Library is only created once. Subsequent updates create one additional subfolder for each corresponding update: Localization Name_2, Localization Name_3, and so on.
