Adding a Flash File

Often you'll want to add things like graphics or charts to visually display information in a presentation. To really add impact to a presentation you can add a Flash file - just like we do in our sample presentation.

You'll need to create the Flash file and the .htm file to call the Flash file first. You'll then need to create a File object which links to the .htm and references the Flash file as an additional file. During publishing the code from the .htm file is resolved and the flash file is added to the publishing folder.

Note: You'll find a copy of the .htm file we used in sample presentation in the Flash folder (Author-it 5\Data\Templates\Presentations\Flash)

To Add a Flash File Using a File Object:

  1. Open the Topic in the Editor.
  2. Choose Edit > Insert > Insert Picture.
  3. Select the General tab and base the File object on the Linked HTML Code File template.
  4. Select the Web tab. Select the [...] button next to the Directory field, then browse to the folder containing the file.
  5. Select the [...] button next to the Filename field, then browse to the file. Choose Open to add the file to the File object.

    Select the .htm file

  6. On the Linked HTML sub tab select the Add Files button next to the Additional Files field. Click on the Add button and navigate to the folder containing the Flash file.
