Unattended Presentations

Author-it presentations give you the flexibility to set up your slide show and let it play unattended and continuously. This is ideal for using at a trade show, or as part of an exhibit. The slide show looks after itself leaving you free to get on with other things.

Automation is controlled in the slide show using variable values for transition timings and effects. The variables are included in the HTML templates and resolved during publishing. Variable values are set at topic level (slide), book (presentation), or library level.

  • Slide transition timing determines the time the slide will appear for in seconds before the next slide is shown.
  • Item transition styles determines which styles will be treated as items. Paragraphs using these styles will be displayed one at a time.
  • Item transition timing determines the length of time each item will appear for, in seconds, before the next item or slide is shown.
  • PresentationAutoStart defines whether a slide show presentation will start with auto progression on or off.

If PresentationAutoStart is set to on the slide show will automatically start, if not then just click on the Play button on the Control bar and the variables take care of the rest... When you're ready to stop the slide show click on the Stop button.
